Q: How does forwarding work?

Your domain's MX records point to ForwardMailTo. Each incoming message is forwarded to the destination set for its address, with the original sender, subject, and attachments preserved.

Q: Do I need my own domain?

Yes. ForwardMailTo works with any domain you own, registered with any provider.

Q: What happens to my current email provider?

Once your MX records point to ForwardMailTo, incoming mail no longer reaches your previous provider. Create matching addresses before updating DNS. To revert, restore your previous MX records.

Q: Will replies be marked as spam?

Replies are DKIM-signed for your domain, and setup includes SPF and DMARC records. Publish all provided records so receiving servers can authenticate your replies.

Q: What are the Free plan limits?

One domain, 25 addresses, and 7 days of delivery logs. The catch-all does not count toward the address limit. The Free plan has no time limit.

Q: What is catch-all forwarding?

A catch-all receives mail sent to any address on your domain that doesn't match an address you've created.

Q: Can I forward email to Slack or Telegram?

Yes, on Pro. Any address can deliver to a Slack channel or Telegram chat. Replies posted in the thread or chat are emailed to the sender from your domain address.

Q: Can I receive email in my own application?

Yes, on Pro. A webhook address POSTs each message to your HTTPS endpoint as signed JSON. The webhook documentation covers the payload format and signature verification.

Q: How long does setup take?

ForwardMailTo automatically checks pending domains. Verification completes once your DNS changes propagate.

How messages are handled

Message contents aren't stored

Bodies and attachments are processed in transit and not retained. Delivery logs hold metadata only and expire after 7 days on Free or 30 days on Pro.
Authenticated replies

Replies are DKIM-signed for your domain. Setup includes the SPF and DMARC records receiving servers check.
Your domain stays portable

Mail routing is controlled by your MX records. Point them to another provider at any time.
Account deletion

Deleting your account permanently erases your domains, addresses, and delivery logs.

To start a new email, click Write a new email in your dashboard and we open Gmail or your mail app with everything filled in. People you’ve emailed before also show up in Gmail’s suggestions.
