How to forward email from your domain to Gmail

What you'll end up with

Mail sent to your domain arrives in your normal Gmail inbox, and when you reply, recipients see your professional address. You keep Gmail's search, filters, and apps — you just add a domain address on top. No new inbox to check.

Step 1 — Add and verify your domain

Create a free account, add your domain, and add the MX, TXT, and DKIM records the wizard shows you at your DNS provider. See the domain setup guide if you're new to DNS records. Verification is automatic and usually finishes within about fifteen minutes.

Step 2 — Forward an alias to Gmail

Create an alias like [email protected] and set its destination to your Gmail address. Prefer to catch everything? Turn on catch-all so any address at your domain forwards to Gmail. Send a message to the alias from another account to confirm it arrives.

Step 3 — Reply as your domain in Gmail

Forwarding gets mail in; to send as your domain you add it to Gmail's "Send mail as" using SMTP credentials:

1. Open the alias in ForwardMailTo and copy its SMTP username, password, host, and port.
2. In Gmail, go to Settings → Accounts and Import → Send mail as → Add another email address.
3. Enter your domain address, then the SMTP server details when prompted.
4. Confirm the verification email (it forwards right back to Gmail), and set the address as default if you want to send from it by default.

Troubleshooting

• Mail not arriving? Check the domain shows verified and that no old MX records from a previous provider remain.
• Landing in spam? Make sure the DKIM records are in place and haven't been removed.
• Can't send as the alias? Re-copy the SMTP password — it's shown per alias — and confirm the port matches what Gmail expects.
