How to forward email from your domain to Slack

What you get

When mail hits the alias, ForwardMailTo posts a message to your chosen Slack channel with the subject, sender, and body, and uploads any attachments into the thread. Because it's threaded, your team can discuss in place — and when someone replies in that thread, we send their reply back to the original sender as an email from your domain. It's two-way, so Slack becomes a shared inbox for that address.

Before you start

• A verified domain.
• A Pro plan — on Free, the Slack option shows a "Pro" badge and is disabled.
• Permission to add an app to the Slack workspace you want to post into.

Step by step

1. On a verified domain, create an alias (for example support@) and under Deliver to choose A Slack channel.
2. Click Add to Slack and approve the connection. You only connect a workspace once — it's then reusable across aliases and domains.
3. Back on the alias form, pick the Channel this alias should post to from the dropdown.
4. Save the alias, then send a test email to it and confirm the message appears in the channel.

Replying from Slack

Each forwarded message ends with a note: Reply in this thread to respond by email. Type your reply in that thread and we relay it to the original sender from your domain address, keeping the subject and threading intact. Replies posted outside the thread aren't sent.

Route different aliases to different channels

The channel is chosen per alias, so support@ can post to #support while sales@ posts to #sales — all from one workspace connection. To send several domains to several channels, see routing multiple domains to channels.

Good to know

• If the bot isn't in the target channel yet, it joins automatically on first delivery.
• Messages flagged as spam are still posted, marked with a warning.
• If your account drops from Pro, Slack aliases stop delivering and those messages are logged as paused.
